Human Rights Statement
Centerspace is committed to doing business with the highest degree of integrity, ethics, and accountability and to upholding the human rights of its team members, residents, partners, and the greater communities it serves by adhering to the following principles:
Code of Conduct:
Centerspace’s Code of Conduct applies to all officers, team members, and trustees of the company. The code covers a wide range of business practices and procedures and sets out basic principles to guide all team members and trustees of the company. All Centerspace team members and trustees must conduct themselves accordingly and seek to avoid even the appearance of improper behavior. Compensation:
Centerspace is committed to providing work conditions, wages, and benefits to its team members that are competitive with those offered by other employers in this area and in this industry. If team members have concerns about work conditions or compensation, they are strongly encouraged to voice these concerns openly and directly to their direct supervisor or the Talent and Culture Department.
Discrimination:
In order to provide equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals, employment decisions made at Centerspace are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities. Centerspace does not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. Freedom of Association:
Centerspace recognizes the rights of its team members regarding freedom of association and collective bargaining.
Health and Safety:
Centerspace is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace. Newly hired team members are required to complete safety training as part of the company’s commitment to an injury-free workplace. The Vendor Code of Conduct requires vendors to maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment. The Company’s Total Rewards program helps team members live well and work well by providing education and resources on healthy eating, stress reduction, exercise and much more.
Labor Practices:
Centerspace prohibits the use of child labor, forced or involuntary labor, mental or physical abuse or coercion, corruption, or any other practices that may violate the standards set by the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Vendors:
Centerspace expects all vendors who provide products and/or services to comply with the letter and spirit of all applicable laws, rules, and regulations in the states in which they operate, including all applicable environmental regulations, and compliance with all required permits, licenses, registrations, and restrictions. All vendors shall comply with the principles set out in the company’s Vendor Code of Conduct including:
- Integrity: Vendors must commit to operating with ethical and lawful behavior, and to acting professionally and fairly in all business dealings and relationships.
- Confidential Information and Privacy: Vendors must abide by Centerspace’s information confidentiality requirements, which include maintaining confidentiality and prohibiting any disclosure of Centerspace information or contract terms and conditions and pricing.
- Fair Treatment, Wages, Benefits and Working Hours: Vendors will provide a workplace free from illegal discrimination and sexual harassment. Vendors will comply with local applicable wage laws regarding wages, overtime hours, and mandated benefits.
- Health, Safety and Respect for Environment: Vendors shall provide a healthy and safe working environment and be environmentally responsible to minimize any adverse impacts.
All team members are expected to read, understand, and acknowledge the company’s workplace provisions and expectations as outlined in the company’s team member handbook. Any concerns about misconduct are to be directed to the team members supervisor, the Talent and Culture department or the company’s anonymous reporting hotline.
